Anne

After many years working in administration, Anne followed her heart and her dream, and made the move to the area of holistic healing. She says that reiki helped her make that move, giving her the courage and confidence she needed to go forward and set up her own business.

Anne was introduced to Reiki by a wonderful and inspiring teacher, Mary Tuohy. Discovering reiki has been a life enriching experience for Anne. She is now a Reiki Master, Practitioner and Teacher. She teaches Reiki and holds Reiki training workshops throughout the year, in Ratoath, Co. Meath. She is a member of Reiki Federation Ireland.

Anne is also an Aromatherapist. She holds I.T.E.C. (International Therapy Examination Council) Diplomas in Anatomy and Physiology, Aromatherapy and Indian Head Massage.

After working as a massage therapist for a while, it seemed a natural progression to train in Relaxation and Stress Management. This involved learning stress coping techniques and relaxation skills. She holds an I.T.E.C. Diploma in Stress Management.

Many years earlier, as a participant on a Personal Development Course, Anne discovered that she connected easily and naturally with people. On completion of that course, she trained to be a facilitator and successfully co-facilitated Personal Development Courses for a while. Following on from that experience, she decided to further develop her innate communication skills. She undertook a course of study in Counselling and completed a two year course at St. Patrick's College, Maynooth, graduating with a Diploma in counselling skills.

In 2006 Anne began working in a Cancer Support Centre.  In this centre she has facilitated Stress Management Courses and workshops; Relaxation and Visualisation Classes; and in 2010 she began teaching Mindfulness Courses.

In 2012 Anne completed her Mindfulness training and she is now a fully qualified, accredited Mindfulness Teacher. Anne has trained in mindfulness with Breathworks U.K.and also with the Institute for Mindfulness Based Approaches (IMA) Germany and she has also completed specialist teacher training in mindfulness based cognitive therapy ( MBCT) for cancer care with Bangor University in Wales.

Currently Anne's work is mainly in the area of mindfulness and reiki. Meditation and mindfulness have become a natural part of her daily life, both in a personal capacity and in her work. Mindfulness, Anne says, offers us the choice to live life more fully and experience the richness that each new day brings (for more on mindfulness, see Mindfulness page and also Mindfulness courses/classes page).
